  This is the place we come back to time and again. Can’t beat the views, and it is close to grocery stores and some very nice restaurants with it walking distance. There is one assigned parking the unit we stay in is slowly, but surely going under some renovations and each time we visit some thing has been updated. The views are spectacular. The customer service is very very good when you check in.

  Loved our stay - very clean, great view and proximity to the beach, fantastic staff. Villa was well equipped and provided everything we needed. Only complaint is that it really isn't set up for 6 people. Yes it can sleep 6 people and there are two large bathrooms but the table is for 4, the seating in the living room is for 4, there are only 4 chairs on the balcony. (There are two recliners on the balcony but not near the chairs so always separated.) Sofa bed is VERY uncomfortable. Living area could use a sectional sofa and/or more chairs.

  We've been coming to this place for years. The current owners have really let this place fall apart. Windows are broken, rust stains, broken doors, etc. They just keep raising the price while the place falls apart. Gone are the days of getting a candle or bottle of champagne. Now the grills and fire pit don't work.

  Wonderful views. Excellent staff. It is now owned by the Holiday Inn.
  We have been coming here for years and the views are definitely worth the price. The units themselves are a little dated and could use some modernization and sprucing up but we still choose to pick this place. The customer service is outstanding. Location is easy to walk to the grocery store. There is a lot of steps going to some of the lower units so you need to be in good shape no elevator. Nice garage to protect your car.   The check in for this property is across the street at the holiday inn. Everything went very smoothly this trip. We come here all the time and love to stay at the Sunset Cove.   We have been coming to this condo for several years. In the past it was in really top-notch condition but recently sold the Holiday Inn. It is maintained more like the Holiday Inn but you cannot beat the views. We will continue to come back. There are a few glitches in the condo with some of the fireplace is not working, some of the stove top burners do not ignite and light. Some of the windows are cracked. And baseboards etc. are in need of paint and repair. We spend most of our time on the patio looking at the ocean so I would say definitely repeat if you can be OK with the need for repair. Being that close to the ocean there’s going to be damage from salt water etc. The grill is getting rusty because it sits outside and it’s almost on the ocean. We still enjoy coming to Laguna. Are peaceful sanctuary place to mentally reboot

  New management is not keeping up with the building like the previous owner. There are broken windows, rusted railings, grills that are corroded and don't work, blinds don't operate, etc. They are charging premium pricing, but the property is not as nice as the price suggests. They now allow short stays and many guests smoke pot throughout property even though smoking is illegal in Laguna Beach.

  The view and location of this property is simply breathtaking! Waking up to the sound of waves with the bedroom overlooking the ocean is purely divine.   We stayed in Seychelles end of May 2021 for our 27th year Anniversary. We walked in my husband and 16 & 19 year old were truly impressed the first thing we saw was the ocean from the sliding glass patio door. We had been looking to see where to stay in Laguna we have never visited here, this was the perfect spot right on Clay street beach, so close to many restaurants & coffee shops just steps away!Ralphs grocery store-across the street, Orange Inn-literally next door, Driftwood Kitchen-3min perfect location!Seychelles villa is two bedroom/two bathroom with pull out couch, so it fit our family of 4. Has a kitchen with just about everything you need.We cooked in once during our stay but grabbed some groceries since we did have a full fridge.The living room is spacious with a dining table, couch & beautiful ocean views from the patiodoor. The master bedroom has a secret tv at the end of the king size bed, my husband kept the patio door open so he could enjoy the ocean views and watched movies, best of two worlds he said!The bedroom also had an on suite with a jetted tub/shower.Patio door is nice because the balcony stretches the whole length of the villa. (We walked on the balcony to get to the living room and kitchen why take the hallway when you can pass by the ocean) It has two loungers, sitting area for 4 and a propane grill.We loved the views can’t say it enough!The second bedroom had a queen size bed and bathroom has a bath/shower combo.Again everything you need as far as soaps shampoo etc.The villa had enough towels and washcloths for us and enough beach towels as well.The property has a “rooftop” sitting area with shared grill, fire pit &loungers.You won’t need to utilize this because you have your own on your patio.There are complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas near beach access and laundry facilities on site near the garage. Our only complaint is they do need to update a few things & do a deep cleaning of the villa,couch & carpe

  With the exception of 2020’s “lockdown year”, my wife and I have spent a two week Spring vacation at Sunset Cove for the past 20 years, and were pleased we were able to return again this year. The condos at Sunset Cove are in a location both beautiful and very convenient to downtown Laguna Beach. This year we noticed some maintenance issues, which perhaps is not surprising after an almost year long “Covid shutdown”. None of the issues materially affected what was otherwise a wonderful stay, and we are confident they will be remedied by the property management company. Note that the property is now managed in conjunction with the Holiday Inn across the street, and with front desk, maintenance and cleaning personnel who are exceptionally competent, diligent, accommodating, and friendly. We would recommend Sunset Cove to anyone.

  I wanted to start off by saying that Julio was so great to us,so accommodating and really wanted to make sure our stay was perfect. The property was clean, the beds super comfortable, kitchen had what we needed. The roar of the ocean all day long was music to our ears and we loved being outside on that wonderful balcony!! This is a property we have stayed at before, I understand it is under new ownership but it does seem as it needs some love and updates.There are two broken windows in this property that for safety reasons did bother us. Outside of those issues, it was a great property and a good location that you really don't need your car! We hated to leave!

  We stayed at Sunset Cove Villas for the first time in 2009 and have been back numerous times since. Laguna is our favorite beach in Southern California and this is the absolute BEST place to stay. This is our second stay in the Seychelles unit and we are never disappointed. You feel like you are literally staying ON the ocean. The room was just as we remembered and we were pleasantly surprised to see new living room and patio furniture. The views are even better in person than they are in the photos.   You can not get any closer to the ocean than this! An absolutely beautiful location, close to shops and the main beach - it was heaven to have the time here in this ideal location. The host Julio was fantastic, so helpful and courteous with us. It was a pleasure to deal with him.
  We have stayed in Laguna many times (we are from Canada) and I will absolutely be staying in this location - dealing with the Laguna Hospitality Group for future visits. It was a pleasure and as soon as we are allowed to travel again, I will be calling them.
  Easy walk to the main town and beach - and it was great exercise to walk up and down the hill to Laguna! Maintenance staff at the hotel was responsive and helped us when needed. I highly recommend this group and property.

  Second time we’ve stayed in a Sunset Cove unit. We were in the Seychelles which is right over the sand. The positives - view, access to beach and sound of waves are the best! Garage parking & gated access. Walk to great restaurants; grocery store right across the street; full kitchen & BBQ on balcony/deck; free trolley usually runs to get around town. Staff are nice & responsive. Downsides - lots of stairs to get to this unit. Also, the inside is in need of updating. For example, the roll up blind in master bedroom was broken the whole week we were there. Carpeted area appears dirty due to being old/stained.
  
  Some of the other units have been updated (paint, carpet, flooring, etc.) Friends stayed in the 2 story Majorca which was much cleaner & fresher but not as close to the sand.
  
  We plan to go back and stay in the Martinique unit. Stayed in it last year. It’s in better condition in terms of flooring & decor.
  
  There is a large, beautiful common area patio with chaise lounges & dining tables. Beautiful view and space to congregate.

  My family has been staying at Sunset Cove for years. We've stayed in different units, and most recently our choice was Seychelles. I believe that Sunset Cove is under new management as it seemed to lack the personal and exclusive care of the past. We witnessed many different guests coming and going during our weeklong stay, whereas in the past there was a one week minimum. With all the comings and goings it had more of a motel type of feel. While the unit was clean, we found several things to be in disrepair such as a broken bathroom window that could not be closed, a grill that barely worked, a very complicated tv system that did not offer the variety of channels suggested on the in unit guide(in fact the offerings were quite limited), a garage remote that didn't work, among other small things. In addition, each of the other two bedroom units we've stayed in before offered an outdoor dining table; so it was surprising that the larger patio didn't have one. There seemed to be a breakdown in communication between the front desk, which was located in a different building across the street, and the workers dealing with the unit. For instance, we had received a message that housekeeping would be in on Wed. to clean; I promptly called the front desk to tell them we were declining the service as we kept the unit very clean and valued out privacy.   What a fabulous location if you want absolute beachfront accommodation - you really couldn't get any closer to the ocean without actually getting hit by the waves! We stayed in the "Seychelles" apartment, which was a good size for 2 adults & 2 children (the children could even sleep in their own beds, as there is a fold-out sleeper sofa in the lounge room), with a compact self-contained kitchen, two bathrooms, and the beach right beneath your balcony. It's private, relaxing and very comfortable. You have your own car spot in the garage so you can come and go as you please. You have access to a shared laundry with 3 washing machines and 3 dryers, something that is very welcome if you are on a long trip away from home.
  You can expect to see and hear the crashing waves, be able to walk down some steps to the sand, and walk a few minutes to shops and restaurants.
  What you shouldn't expect (looking at some other reviews) is 5-star hotel service: you are in your own self-contained apartment, not a hotel!
  One thing to be aware of is that there are quite a few steep steps to negotiate to get to some of the apartments, so be prepared for some significant exercise if you have heavy luggage!
  Overall we found this a fabulous location that offered great value for family, and we'd definitely stay here again.

  We have been staying at Sunset Cove Villas for over 10 years. I fear the condition of the once pristine units are deteriorating. To their credit, when I notified management of things that could be easily repaired such as burnt out lights, wifi issues and bathtub drains, they immediately sent someone over. I even took it upon myself to clean & lubricate the LR slider since it was almost impossible to open. But other issues exist. Carpets are badly stained in the Master. Paint touch-up is needed. The fan blades are bare wood and peeling. Plants around the complex need attending. The sleeper sofa is old and worn. Sunset Cove is a cut above every other property in LB. The location cannot be beat. I just hope the powers to be realize this and give the units the attention they deserve.

  We were lucky enough to stay at both Lanai villa and Seychelle villa during our one week vacation at Laguna Beach and we had an amazing time. The villas holds a fantastic standard and were perfect for us traveling with our 9 month old baby with the all inclusive kitchen. Also the smart tv was great for our nights at the villas. The staff are fantastic as well and provided us with all we needed during our stay. The villas also are situated on the beach and are situated only five minutes walk from downtown Laguna. We will defenetly return.

  Perhaps the best way to sum up our experiences at Sunset Cove is just to say that my wife and I have returned every year for two weeks for the past 16 years. All around, Sunset Cove is the best place to stay in beautiful Laguna Beach. It is a very well managed and maintained collection of apartment-like units right on the beach within easy walking distance form the heart of downtown Laguna, with all its restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. All the units are nicely decorated, and nearly all have spectacular views of the ocean. Our favorite unit is Seychelles, because both the living/dining area and the master bedroom have wall-to-wall windows looking out at the Pacific. The staff is unfailingly competent, diligent and cheerful, keeping the place clean and in repair, and solving any problem with aplomb.

The DVD player did not work and it took 2 days (of our 7) to get it fixed. The TV in the master bedroom would only work if we got down on the floor, crawled under the bed and plugged it in! You would think that for $600 a night, things would work correctly!!!

With the TV cabinet in Master, it has been fixed- this problem was brought to our attention on your check in date and we ended up having to take completely apart for repair, we knew it was not perfect for you but didn't want to have a repair guy in your unit all day. The DVD player- we really wish you would have called the Emergency Contact number provided in the unit (next to my phone number) and three members would have been contacted when this occurred and there would have been help immediately- I am sorry how upsetting this was to you and your husband- I happened to be out of town when you called Saturday evening at 8pm and I was told the simple repair was taken care of Monday in the morning. All our staff members work very hard to not have these things happen and we have discussed to hopefully not this happen like this again, we will do a bterr job. Best, Tim

  I've lost count as to the number of years our family has congregated at Sunset Cove Villas for our August reunion. This year we occupied 4 of the units. In the past we have taken as many as 6 units. This year some of our family members were unable to come. We had a blessed time as usual. Beautiful accomoodations. Great service...wonderful deck and beach! See you again next year..can't wait.

  We had a really nice stay - too short! I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Pictures always make things look better, but it really was like the photos! Very convenient location, and of course we love the Deck, and Orange's cafe. We look forward to returning.

  We stay at Sunset Cove for two weeks every year--we have missed only one year in the last 10-12 years. Obviously, we love the place. Very nice place in an outstanding location in a beautiful town. The units are quite nice, well-maintained and clean, and we see improvements each year. The people who manage and take care of the property are good at their jobs, helpful, and friendly. They all go out of their way to make sure my wife and I have a wonderful experience.

  We stayed in the Seychelles Villa. The pictures on the website do not do this Villa justice. It was just beautiful. The view from the balcony is just breathtaking. The sounds from the ocean are just so relaxing. Conviently located to stores and restaurant. All within walking distance. The Orange Inn has the best sandwiches. Everyone was so friendly. I will stay at this Villa every time I visit Laguna Beach!!!

  Although encapsulated by the beautiful artist colony of Laguna Beach, Sunset Cove, and Seychelles Villa in particular is as one with the ocean as if you were on a fabulous cruise ship. The architect designed the building so that you do not see neighbors or those strolling on the beach unless you peer over the balcony. There is nothing comparable on the Pacific Ocean. Three units literally hang over the edge of the water. Seychelles , Martenique, and Antigua. I've stayed in them all.... Awesome privacy, incredible crashing waves,the sun setting over Catilina 's worth the extra expense.
  It is as new today as when they first built it. the villas are continually updated with the same elegance and quality as my first visit.
  Give yourself the gift of Sunset Cove Villas. I have for about 20 fabulous years....

  The Seychelles Villa was a perfect place for my Wife and I to enjoy our vacation in Laguna beach. We used to stay at the Montage or the Surf and Sand hotels for vacation but this place was much better with top of the line accomodations and the view and beach were fantastic.

  I've stayed in many different Laguna Beach accommodations over the past 20 years...this is my last stop. I will never stay anywhere else! Master bedroom (and living/dining room) right on the ocean, perfect location six blocks south of Main Beach, therefore six blocks further south to the rest of Laguna, just perfect!

  Can't say enough about this rental. We're retired and travel extensively. This was the best ever - the view, quality of furnishings, location, everything. Would, however, caution the elderly or others with mobility challenges to pass because of the long staircase that takes you down to the unit which sits at the surf's edge.
